A 70's cover of a 60's spy theme remixed in the 2000's? That's what I was going for in this Prog Rock-meets-spy spoof (the theme is actually a new original composition). The massive SQ80 saw stack gets some additional resonance on the right soundstage via a real TC vacuum tube and a touch of ring mod. NO LOOPS were used--Honest! Listen for the variations in the rhythm track. The faux-Hindi solo is designed to evoke the exotic borrowed-from-India flavor of the original James Bond theme. If you strip away the layers with your ear, I'd like to think you can detect the 60's tube esthetic, the sterile transistor sound of the 70's and the current digital vibe all in the same mix.
